Coppell is a fast-growing, upscale city that is home to more than 30,000 residents. Thanks to its central location just outside the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area, proximity to DFW, the world's second busiest airport, and multiple nearby highway systems, the city has become home to more than two-dozen new corporations over the past several years.
Just a few miles from Grapevine and North lakes, residents find plenty of recreational opportunities. Grapevine Lake features 146 miles of shoreline and has become the premier windsurfing, sailing, and fishing area. The 7,380-acre area also includes an extensive park system with public tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, football and soccer fields, jogging and biking trails, a swimming pool, playgrounds and picnic facilities. North Dallas County is also a golf Mecca with three public golf courses, including one designed by golfing legend Byron Nelson. More than 116 acres of parks allow outdoor excitement. Andrew Brown West Park has 52 acres with jogging/walking trails, a playground, picnic shelters, baseball fields, basketball courts and a pond with a fishing dock. The city's Senior Center offers a variety of activities and programs for the elderly.
Locals enjoy a close-knit community with a wide variety of community events held each year. (See list in separate article.) In addition to the traditional annual holiday-based events, special programs such as the Fall Family Fish event allow families to come together.
There are several shopping areas located throughout the community with more being added on a frequent basis. Within minutes is the Grapevine Mills Mall, a 1.5 million-square-foot facility located two miles west of the DFW Airport. Also nearby is the Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville.
The exemplary public school systems are one of the big draws here.
