Stafford Estates Flower Mound TX Homes
By The Buehlers and Associates
Prestigious Stafford Estates homes in Flower Mound, Texas are located along the north shore of Lake Grapevine. Stafford Estates is a family friendly, quiet residential community in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. There are many reasons why Money magazine chose Flower Mound real estate as a “Best Places to Live in the United States.” Residents of Flower Mound communities enjoy a reasonable cost of living, employment options, a low crime rate, great schools, ample shopping and services, and easy access to the lake, trails, and open spaces.
The Stafford Estates median home values of $300,000 make this wonderfully affordable prime North Texas real estate. Boasting generous floor plans on spacious lots, some impressive four- and five-bedroom homes with oversized garages, multiple living areas, and beautiful yards fill the streets of Stafford Estate real estate in Flower Mound. Many Flower Mound homes come complete with personal swimming pools but the Stafford Estates neighborhoods also enjoy a community pool.
Stafford Estates is close to grocery shopping, two large malls, and only a fifteen-minute drive to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The highly regarded Lewisville Independent School District operates the community public schools near the neighborhood. In addition, several private options are available in the area as well as major universities and community colleges.
Near the center of the city, there is really a large mound of springtime blossoms in the city, originally discovered in the 1840s by European settlers. Today the flower mound is fenced and marked with an historical marker. The sparsely populated area incorporated in 1961 in an effort spearheaded by William Wilkerson to avoid annexation by the City of Irving.
With a population of approximately 65,000, the citizens work hard to preserve the sanctity of a rural environment. The town adopted the SMART growth management plan in 1999 after watching the population burst from 1,685 in 1970 to a 13 percent annual growth rate in the 1990s. The plan encourages conservation development projects to protect and preserve existing open space, vistas, and natural habitats.
The main road connecting the entire city east to west is FM 1171 (Cross Timbers Road). FM 2499 (Long Prairie Road) runs north to south and accesses State Highway 121 and Interstate 635 north of the DFW airport. Much of the new commercial development featuring large chain stores is on the edge of the city near the famous mound at the intersection of Long Prairie Road and Justin Road. Lake Grapevine and Marshall Creek form the town’s southern border with Lewisville to the east and Highland Village, Double Oak, and Bartonville to the north.
